Spark On Monday: Froth And Bubble

Welcome to another “Spark On Monday” here at These Days. Each Monday, a quote or saying is shared to perhaps encourage others.

The blogger who began this meme ( Annie McGuffy at McGuffy’s Reader) is no longer blogging, but some bloggers are carrying on the tradition.

My spark today is a quote I read in a magazine MANY years ago…probably when I was in my twenties. I had no idea that it was taken from an old poem, and although I think of it often, I had never researched it on the internet until this morning. The poem, “The Wearie Wayfarer”, was written in the 1800’s by Adam Lindsay Gordon, an Australian poet.

From the first time I read this, it made perfect sense to me: life really is fragile and unpredictable.   But there is  strength in our kindness to those who are struggling and in facing our own problems the best we can.
