Last week, Motor Man and I took a little road trip. Our destination was Sperryville, Virginia.
We met my dear friend, Pam (Two Spoiled Cats) and her husband, Dave, for lunch. Pam and I became internet friends first, when we both started blogging back in 2010. We email each other several times every day, and, along with our respective hubbies, meet for lunch a couple of times each year.
Our lunch and visit took place at the Headmaster’s Pub, located in an old school building.
Our server, Robin, was the BEST. Pam’s neighbor outright said: “Get the cheeseburger”, so that’s what we all ordered. And our meals were all cooked just as we requested. And Robin graciously agreed to take a picture of us.
When she learned of my love of horses, she urged us to come to the back of the restaurant, where we found their arcade room. And this… No, we didn’t ride, but it made for a cute photo op.
All too soon, our visit was over, and Motor Man once again enjoyed the scenic Virginia countryside on our way home.
Years ago, I participated in a blogging meme called Barn Charm. That no longer is a thing, but those old barns still catch my eye.
And sometimes, photos taken through the trees while driving by just happen to turn out okay.
There were many horse farms along our route. I glanced this one lying down, and Motor Man turned around so I could get a picture.
When we turned back around to continue home, the horse had stood up, but still seemed interested in US.
When I saw this little white church up on a hill, I thought about my friend and former classmate, Shirley. She often shares photos of churches on Facebook, so I took this one for her.
It’s always fun to see Pam and Dave, and Motor Man and I enjoyed all the scenery on our drive.

It was tons of fun – as always – spending time with you two. Lunch was fab and that restaurant was a really friendly spot. We will definitely be visiting it when we travel up to Skyline Drive this year. Love the photos you took on the way home – especially that church – it’s beautiful!
Pam
What a great sharing of your road trip! I know what a treat it was to see Pam!
LOVE all the pictures, especially the sweet white horse who kindly posed, the beautiful church and fun on the antique carousel. Friends are such a blessing!
Sperryville is a nice town. There is still a barn linkup of sorts. Put your link in the comments and Tom will link your post. https://backroadstraveller.blogspot.com/2023/01/the-barn-collective_022470008.html
Good times and great pics !!
I thought about barn charm as soon as I saw that first barn pic ….
What a fun day you had and it shows in every one of these photos. I remember your barn posts well. 🙂
So good to have fun with friends and to think of another friend on the same trip is so awesome & sweet. I absolutely love the picture of the church. Thank you so much, dear friend.
All of you looked like you had such a good time. I love the road trip pictures – especially the church on the hill.
