Poetic Thursday: Relax

As we do every Thursday, we’re joining our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for some poetry.

This is the photo for today’s inspiration:

Isn’t that gorgeous?  This is a flower garden in Akaroa, Christchurch, New Zealand. It was created in 2013,  by landscape designer, Ben Hoyle, and was donated to New Brighton, a suburb of Christchurch, which sustained heavy damage during a 2011 earthquake.

Here’s my poem:

Relax

A beautiful and tranquil spot;
is it fantasy or is it not?

Yes, it’s real, and it was a gift
for a town whose spirits needed a lift.

A flower garden, a unique design
with views from below the waterline.

The beauty, the peace is good for the soul,
and isn’t that always the artist’s goal?

  1. It really is a gorgeous REAL garden and I wish it was next door – I would be there a LOT! Good job on the poem!!!

    Hugs, Pam

  2. Sort of reminds me of the ‘conversation pit’ that was popular in the ’70s !

  3. Well, it sure lifted my spirits today. What a beautiful creation – such an imagination.
