Windowpane Wednesday: Waterfowl

Motor Man and I are so fortunate to live where we do. We’re blessed with gorgeous views, and there’s always wildlife for entertainment.

A few days ago, I saw this heron by the water. Although we’ve seen other large birds ‘mantling’, I’ve never seen a heron doing this.

Supposedly one of the reasons birds do this is to gather warmth from the sun.

Soon, an egret flew in.

I wondered which would be the first to leave.

I didn’t have to wait long for an answer.

Great “day in the life of birds”
You have such a great location for bird and animal viewing.
    Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Great view from your kitchen window! WOW!! I’d never get anything done but wildlife watching if I had the entertainment/shows that you have. Thanks for sharing them – brightens my days! I heard birds chirping as I had my quiet time this morning – they start right when the sun comes up.

  3. I love watching “big” birds…..they usually look just a little bit “goofy” or awkward but they sure aren’t awkward up in the air – they are beautiful flying machines!
