Poetic Thursday: Chocolate

It’s Poetic Thursday again here on the blog. Our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats, gave us this photo for our inspiration this week.

What. A. Mess.

Here’s my poem:

Chocolate

I snapped a picture because I knew
describing this scene, words wouldn’t do.

When hubby gets home, he’ll smile and say:
“I missed you, honey, how was your day?”

“Chocolate…my day was chocolate from ceiling to floor;
I cleaned and cleaned, but still there was more.

YOUR little one was wearing it from his head to toes
and seemed rather proud to strike this pose.

I know one thing above all else:
next time that syrup goes on a higher shelf.”
