Poetic Thursday: Turn The Page

Thursday means poetry here on the blog. Our friend, Pam, along with her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, gave us this picture for today’s inspiration.

Here’s my poem:

Turn The Page

A different era, a different age;
so much has happened, we’ve turned the page.

We’ve turned the page on how we dress;
some still care, but most are a mess.

We’ve turned the page on how we act:
a slight disagreement, and you’re under attack.

We’ve turned the page: we’re not safe anywhere.
And violence is now the stuff of nightmares.

We’ve turned the page, and it’s sad to say
we’re just not the same as we were yesterday.

  1. How true! It was a gentler time. I miss it.

  2. Mercy, yes! Turning that page resulted in disrespect on so many levels, I think. Your poem is spot on. And oh, I do love that photo.

  3. Agree 100% …… this photo is certainly a nostalgic peek back at times many of us remember. Everything has changed and many things NOT for the better.
