The Calm Before The Storm

These photos are some I’ve taken with my cell phone over the past few days.

The clouds and the late afternoon sun on the marsh grass caught my eye on this particular day.

And, on another day, the marsh was truly golden.

And, at sunrise, on yet another day, I thought the swirly clouds were pretty. The owner of that sailboat has been decorating it with green Christmas lights for several years, and we always enjoy it.

As I’m writing this on Tuesday evening, we’re having strong winds and heavy rain from a winter storm.  And we’re hoping the 30-minute power outage we had earlier will be the only one we experience.

**Update, we lost power again for about 15 minutes later in the evening. We’re thankful for no damage, and our thoughts are with those who weren’t so fortunate.**

  1. Pretty photos……I always hate to complain (well – sort of!) when we lose power for a short period because there are people who lose it for DAYS or even WEEKS during stormy periods….BUT, it is an inconvenience. Just happy that the rain has stopped for now anyway. Stay cozy!

  2. More great pics !! – and that was a mess last night …

  3. Great pics. I love the views that you share. They always make me smile. I chose JOY this morning when we still didn’t have power. We were with out power for about 12-14 hours. Back on now and thankful.

  4. We too were blessed with no damage. Your pics are amazing as always. I agree with, Marshall is right it was a mess and a scary night.
