Poetic Thursday: The Compact Model

Thursday has rolled around again, and that means it’s time for a little poetry. Each week, I look forward to participating in Pam’s poetry challenge over at Two Spoiled Cats.

This is the photo she provided us with for this week’s inspiration:

Hmmm….unhappy looking little fella, isn’t he?

Here’s my poem:

The Compact Model

Well, hello there, little man, why the sad face?
You say your ride is a tad off the pace?

It certainly looks uncomfy, too;
maybe compact’s not the right model for you.

I know you didn’t really ask for advice,
but a little more leg room might be nice.

Yeah, that coupe’s just not working for you, man:
time to upgrade to a roomy sedan.

And if you need more horsepower under that hood,
well I know a guy, and he’s really good.

This week’s photo reminded me of this one taken of Marshall when he was a little boy. The Easter bunny delivered his candy and toys that year in this wagon, and it wasn’t long until Marshall had taken a seat in it. His  expression is happier than the little guy in the first picture, and he looks much comfier with his ride.
