Poetic Thursday: The Compact Model

Thursday has rolled around again, and that means it’s time for a little poetry. Each week, I look forward to participating in Pam’s poetry challenge over at Two Spoiled Cats.

This is the photo she provided us with for this week’s inspiration:

Hmmm….unhappy looking little fella, isn’t he?

Here’s my poem:

The Compact Model

Well, hello there, little man, why the sad face?
You say your ride is a tad off the pace?

It certainly looks uncomfy, too;
maybe compact’s not the right model for you.

I know you didn’t really ask for advice,
but a little more leg room might be nice.

Yeah, that coupe’s just not working for you, man:
time to upgrade to a roomy sedan.

And if you need more horsepower under that hood,
well I know a guy, and he’s really good.

This week’s photo reminded me of this one taken of Marshall when he was a little boy. The Easter bunny delivered his candy and toys that year in this wagon, and it wasn’t long until Marshall had taken a seat in it. His  expression is happier than the little guy in the first picture, and he looks much comfier with his ride.

  1. Totally precious! I know you wish you had that wagon still!

    Again, your poetry was amazing!

  2. Indeed Marshall looks much happier than the Poetic Thursday photo baby! I thought it would make a cute poem opportunity – yours is adorable and you were able to give Motor Man a “plug” too!

  3. First, LOVE the picture and the poem. My first thought was that he was sad that he’d outgrown his favorite ride. All of the auto references are GREAT!! And Marshall’s picture is the “icing on the cake!”

  4. More great lines ! plenty of room in the model I was sportin’ !

I love when you connect your poems to Marshall or JR. Wonderful poem and pictures.

  6. So cute. I don’t know how you always come up with a winning poem for these photos, but you do! And I also enjoy when you connect your poem to a personal photo or your two favorite men. 🙂
