Poetic Thursday: What Big Teeth

It’s the last Thursday in September (where does the time go??), and we’re sharing poetry.  Each week, we join Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.

This was our photo inspiration this week:

And here’s my poem:

What Big Teeth

I wish I could have lived with dinosaurs
to feel the earth shake and hear them roar.

I’d need to know all the best places to hide,
if Mom would only let me go outside.

Maybe that wouldn’t work after all;
those teeth are so big, and I’m so small.

They were large and in charge  in their day,
it’s so much safer that we ‘meet’ this way.

*To those in the path of Hurricane Ian, we’re holding you close in thought.*

  1. YES! My thought was “My, what big teeth your have”. Love the balanced thoughts of a young person’s curiosity and caution.
    I join your prayers for those in the path and feeling the effects of Ian.

  2. Cute poem!! We are also thinking about those in the path of Ian….hoping for safety for everyone………..
