Love Song Tangled Up In Blue

Recently, I looked out and saw “Bride Swan”, paddling along the shore line. She was so striking against the blue water, I grabbed the camera and managed to snap a few pictures of her.

When I looked at the photos on the computer, my mind, for some reason,  went to songs with “blue” in the title or lyrics.

Love is Blue by Paul Mauriat.  The version most of us are familiar with is an instrumental, but there are lyrics.  “Blue, blue, my world is blue.”

Song Sung Blue by Neil Diamond. “Song sung blue, everybody knows one.”

And Tangled Up in Blue by Bob Dylan. Marshall introduced that song to me. “The only thing I knew how to do, was to keep on keeping on. Like a bird that flew – tangled up in blue.”

If you’re familiar with any one of those songs, you will probably now be singing it to yourself for the rest of the day.  Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for putting those songs in my mind so I’ll be humming them (SILENTLY!!) all day! Beautiful pictures.

  2. “Tangled Up” is a great one, and I was also thinking of “Blue Bayou” – haven’t heard it in while, but I’m sure I could find it!! Very blue water in these pics …..

  3. She’s soooo pretty in blue! I haven’t seen her for quite a while. The Black (Groom) is hanging out with a rowdy bunch of geese. Maybe she left him!

  4. “Song Song Blue” by Neil Diamond! Now that one is in my head…and I hate it!

  5. She is soooo pretty and elegant! And yes, now all I can hear is Neil Diamond 🙂

  6. Yup, you’ve now implanted “Song Sung Blue” into my brain for the rest of the day… Thanks for that!!! 🙂

    Beautiful swan and gorgeous blues…

  7. Beautiful photo — are swans a usual sight where you are?

Bob Dylan’s song would be my favorite. But all were good matches to your picture. 🙂

  8. Such a refreshingly deep shade of cool blue water! So many times I find myself with brown muddy water to work with instead. Meanwhile, the swan floats around like a fairytale pearl.

  9. Yup…Song, Sung Blue and Neil are right there in my head now! A friend of mine on Facebook just posted a bunch of swan pictures yesterday…something must be in the air!

  10. Shirley Matthews Dunn

  11. Song Sung Blue…as I sway to the tune on my iPod…took me a few to find it! What beautiful pix!…:)JP
