Meeting A Friend

Exactly when we began corresponding, I really can’t say.

Our friendship began because we’re both bloggers. Her name is Pam, and she writes her cat, Sam, writes a daily blog, One Spoiled Cat.   I don’t recall whether I saw her link on another blog first or if she saw mine, but somehow we began e-mailing each other. This has been going on for several months.

Finally, last Sunday, we met in person.

Motor Man and I drove to northern Virginia and met Pam and her husband, Dave, at Strasburg Antique Emporium. The four of us enjoyed browsing the mall, and… a few purchases were made. Then we drove a short distance for lunch at The Hotel Strasburg.

The hotel dates to 1902, and was built as a hospital. I’m partial to old buildings, so it was a treat to have lunch here, at Dave & Pam’s suggestion. This is one section of the dining room. Beautiful.

After lunch, a member of the staff took a photo of the four of us. Obviously I didn’t get the memo to smile instead of talk. (This is why you should always ask your photographer to take more than one shot.)

Motor Man and I had a wonderful time. I could tell from Pam’s e-mails that she’s special. Meeting her in person just proved what I already knew.
