Motor Man and I took a quick trip to the Outer Banks this weekend. And, not surprisingly, we ended up out on the beach at sunrise yesterday morning.
We saw over thirty horses, but the skies were a bit overcast, so it wasn’t the best day for taking pictures. I loved this little one with the dunes and sunrise behind him.
And this one, having her Cheerios sea oats for breakfast.
Motor Man waited patiently while I took photos.
Oops. Seems we got a little close to some shrubbery trying to make it through around a “sippy hole”. (Motor Man introduced me to that term, taken from Swamp Buggy racing.) To see a sippy hole and what happened when someone DIDN’T make it through, see this post.
And then, what I always hope to see: horses actually ON the beach.
Our “wild horse tour” cost us less than $8.00 an hour in gas.
Big spenders, we are, and it was worth every penny.
