Although we really don’t live far from Colonial Williamsburg, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve actually been there.
Yesterday afternoon, Motor Man and I went with our friends, Bev and Bill. Bev wanted to see the Christmas decorations on the buildings. Like this:
And this:
They were all so beautifully done, and made with only natural materials: wheat, nuts, fruit, straw, pods, greenery, flowers, etc.
Although it was rather chilly, the weather was nice, and it was a beautiful time of day to visit Duke of Gloucester Street.
I love seeing the costumed interpreters.
This gentleman was singing “O, Come All Ye Faithful”; his beautiful voice “carrying” quite a distance down the street.
And you know I found horses.
And more horses:
After a cool, leisurely hour-and-a-half walk, we headed back to the car just as the sun was beginning to set.
(But I think Motor Man and I will visit again in the spring. Did you notice, in the picture of the blue carriage, how the two horses were looking at me? They were inviting us on a carriage ride…)
