…year, that is.
How do you celebrate New Year’s Eve? Quietly at home, or at a fun, festive party? Motor Man and I traditionally have an early dinner with friends, then head home for a quiet evening.
It’s been quite a few years since we’ve been awake to welcome in the New Year. And thankfully, it always arrives without our supervision.
This picture has nothing to do with New Year’s – it’s just one of my favorites.
There’s a birthday in the family tomorrow, and later in the week, I’ll share details of a fun adventure we had this past weekend. Warning: much to tell and lots of photos.
But, in the meantime, Happy New Year!

Like you and JR we won’t be awake to ring in the new year tonight…..we’ll have dinner in front of the fireplace, share a bottle of champagne, go to bed early, wake up when we hear fireworks going off at midnight then start a new year tomorrow AM…..we are NOT “party animals” at our ripe old age! Love that photo of you and JR…..Happy New Year to you both………
Love, Pam and Sam
I like that photo too. It echoes your fun and happy personalities.
Wishing you and MM and very safe and Happy New year! 🙂
Your celebrating sounds like ours. We have gotten to the age, staying at home is best. Love the picture of you two!!!!!!!
Our New Year’s Eve will be just like Pam’s up there! Only substitute MissouREE wine for the bubbly. And it has been years for us too Dianna that we have been awake to see the New Year. I can see why that is a favorite picture!
Happy New Year’s Eve!
we are doing dinner and movie and will be at sister-in-laws by 10 because we are picking up dinner and will bring it to her house. I have never been a big fan of New Years Eve and would just as soon stay home but hubby loves it. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
This is a wonderful photo of you two. Happy New Year, Dianna!
Great pic! Happy pic! Ordering Chinese, family…and a few friends who are practically family…but staying in. Always staying in! Happiest of new years to you….and can’t wait for the stories and photos to come!
We’ll be next door supervising the ball dropping! I can’t wait to hear about your trip and I know you’ll have some good photos. Maybe some worthy of a painting? Happy New Year Neighbors!
Happy New Year! I love the picture and eagerly await your big news.
Wonderful picture, I can see why it’s your favorite!
We are going out with friends to try a new restaurant tonight; after a week of being sick, just getting out of the house will be a treat. Might be up at midnight but probably not 🙂
Happy New Year!

That is a great picture. Happy New Year! I’ll be staying in, which we normally do. Linn should be in WV by then (family emergency) our first New Year apart. Am looking forward to seeing what you’ve been up to.
enjoy your evening. mine will be quiet. 🙂
We’ll see …. I might go out for a few, but not late !
I’m looking forward to the big post tomorrow, as well !!
I’m not sure I remember that pic, but it is a good one !
We prefer a quiet evening at home. And this year, I’m predicting we both fall asleep before the new year commences. I can see why that photo is one of your favorites, it’s wonderful! Happy New Year, dear friend!
Well, we celebrate about like we did in the old days: go to bed early. However, we don’t get up at 2a.m. to get the horses to the Rose Parade on time. Ahhh, those were the days…we’d be going down the elevator at the hotel in Burbank when other folks were just going to bed! I’m afraid we never did party on New Years, now we live way up here in no-where-ville and are “too old’ anyway! 😉 Good memories though and we treasure them.
Happy New Year!!

p.s. That’s an awesome picture of you two!
Just wait til you read about what we did this past weekend……!!! You’re gonna love it!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that picture of you and Motor Man but it’s a great one! Our house will snooze the New Year in, as usual!
Chuck and I will share a peaceful evening together and try to see the New Year in. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Hope you and JR have a wonderful and blessed New Years. Love Shirley & Chuck
Happy New Year, Dianna!
Usually, New Years Day is a travel day for all of us (dogs and cats included). So we go to bed early and wake up when our US neighbors to the south start firing their shotguns into the air! We then wish each other Happy New Year and go back to sleep. This year though, we are staying put! (I am wondering if I can stay awake that late)!

We live downtown and so we’ll walk to see the fireworks at city hall. We already opened the bubbly…LOL. I think that’s a great picture too! Happy New Year.
What a sweet shot of the two of you! Happy new year…a little late, I’m reading blogs and catching up, courtesy of the reader function in WP… ~ Sheila
