These pictures were taken on January 6, during the golden hour just before sunset.
And as clear and colorful as they are, the photos really don’t do justice to the beauty of the afternoon.
It was one of those times where you grab the camera, head out the door…
…and just do your best to capture the moment.

do you have a folder setup called “Headers?” because these could be in there as well 🙂
MJ
Great idea, MJ! I’ll have to set one up, using your suggestions, of course!
🙂
Is that what you look out on ? It’s incredible 🙂 xx00x

The clouds on that barely rippling water, the reflection-just peaceful and beautiful. I would never get anything done if I lived there, I would always be playing around the water and sitting and looking at it and the clouds and the boats! Well, not if it was cold. But then I could sit inside and look at it.. 🙂 I miss our lakeview but not the crazy part-timers! Enjoy your Thursday Dianna!
The water just shimmers.
Don’t you just love it when everything comes together to make for a PERFECT photo shoot? With that view of yours, the opportunities abound – but what gorgeous shots these are……golden hour, water and sky all cooperating. Super!
Pam
What a gorgeous sky!
well…you do if you live in a place that is surrounded by beauty like yours. Those are GORGEOUS, they look like paintings
These colors a wonderful – and the water just dancing with the sky! It’s like you’ve photographed a life size watercolor!
Oooo I like that “water dancing with the sky!” ~lovely!!!
If these don’t do the day justice, I can’t imagine how beautiful the afternoon was! But every moment looking ‘out your back-door’ is gorgeous, no matter the weather!
These are so tranquil and lovely! Truly makes me want to be sailing again! 🙂

WoW these are just amazing, the reflections, the tones, just perfect. Must have been a very special moment!
they would make such great picture puzzles!!!
Spectacular! The reflections in the water are so cool!
…and you did a great job!
A great job! That golden hour doesn’t disappoint!
Beautiful. I’ve always loved the stillness that seems to come over the earth in the late afternoon.
That day would have been mama’s 96th birthday, I remember thinking that evening how serene and calm it was. Mama loved the sunset’s and the sunrise. That is why I was so glad the day of her funeral that the sun came out over the tree’s behind the gravesite just after her service. Thanks for sharing such beautiful scenes with us.
What beauty. Great job.
No two are ever the same, are they? Glad you were home with camera in hand. Great pix, as always!
Gorgeous. I love the second one best…I think.

I love the perspective you caught in these shots! Gorgeous. 🙂
