Thoughts On This Thursday

Things have been fairly quiet ’round these parts recently. Translated: I have no specific blog material for today.

So, I’ll share some random thoughts, as well as a few recent sunrise/sunset shots.

This was very early (as in 5:17 a.m.)  on the morning of May 9.  We were up before the sun that day for the road trip we took to see the Gypsy horses.

early morning may 9

I’ve been busy planting ….geraniums, verbena, purslane, petunias, fairy gardens… I just can’t seem to stop.  If we suffer from a lack of rain this summer, I’ll have my work cut out for me to keep everything watered. I’ll share photos soon.

This picture was taken last Saturday, May 11. Obviously, the sun had been up for awhile when I took this, but I thought the reflection on the water was nice. I met a friend that day for antiquing, lunch and (more) flower shopping. I’ll share details of our trip tomorrow.

You may recall that I mentioned one of the horses we saw last week was expecting a foal any day? She gave birth to a filly Tuesday night. If I’m able to get a picture from Tabatha, I’ll share.

The sunrise on Monday, May 13.

A dear, dear friend of ours lost her fight against cancer last week. I’m working on a post in her memory, and will share that next week. But, in the meantime, here’s the sunset from Tuesday night.

  1. Beautiful photos and thoughts on this Thursday! Have a great day in your “extensive” gardens!

  2. Trolled by your house yesterday in the “new” boat after we bought a rubber freeze plug from NAPA in front of Motor Man’s place to temporarily keep from sinking due to no proper plug included in the sale. Thought it was only appropriate that we wave but alas, didn’t see you or Marshall, or MM. Nice to see the reverse view from the sunset and sunrise, though!

  3. Very sorry to hear about your friend, that hurts.

Beautiful photos; I can see you out in the yard, puttering around. Something I wish I had time for right now … *sigh*

    Bests to you!

  4. So sorry for your loss. Beautiful photos – each so unique! I love that last sunset. Pretty normal goings on around here…except that I’m puppy sitting for my daughter’s dog! Have a wonderful day.

  5. Thanks for starting off this busy Thursday for me with these lovely thoughts! I’m sorry to hear about your friend. I finally got around to writing my post about the WordPress family award Dor gave me. I know you already have it too, but I nominated you in mine because you’re such a wonderful blogging buddy. Have a blessed Thursday!

  10. Your photos are amazing. You capture the sun’s journey beautifully.

I look forward to seeing your flowers. It sounds like your going to have a gorgeous carpet of blooms. The butterflies, hummingbirds and fairies will surely enjoy them.

It’s wonderful to hear the new colt is born and is healthy. I hope you can get a photo of it. It’ll be neat to know what they named her.

I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s passing. I know your heart is breaking. My prayers are with her family and with you & MM too. (((hugs)))

So sorry to hear about your friend. It’s hard to lose a special person in our lives no matter how many times we go through it.

What a wonder of the colt’s birth. There’s nothing better than a birth.2 for 4 legged creatures.

You pictures are lovely as always. The Lord paints such beautiful colors in the morning and evenings for us to enjoy and capture.

My thoughts for this lovely Thursday isI i am home with my wonderful husband (later taking a trip to Pungo) and I am Face booking with a dear friend.
I know your yard is going to be wonderful with all you lovely flowers!

    Enjoy your Thursday..

  17. I just saw a story in Pilotonline.com titled “Corolla wild horse recovers after rescue from sea.” Did you see it? It was dated the 16th.

    • No, Patti, I hadn’t seen that. Although I follow the Corolla Wild Horse Foundation’s page on Facebook, so I knew about the incident. Thanks for letting me know there was a newspaper article about it! I’ll check on that.
