Is it just me, or does it seem that we are having quite a few “super moons” these days?
Admittedly, we don’t have too many “blue moons” (two full moons in the same calendar month), and a Blood Moon (full lunar eclipse) is rather rare. And that “trifecta” happened in the wee hours of this morning, the first time in over 150 years.
Sadly, it was best view in the western part of the country.
So, here’s the next best thing: the almost Super Blue Blood Moon from last night.
I did make an attempt to capture the moon this morning, but we had serious cloud interference.
Thanks, Motor Man, for driving me out “on the point” at 6:30 this morning; we gave it our “best shot”.
~These Days Of Mine~
It was still a beautiful moon this morning. I checked it starting at 5:00. Sometimes the ribbons of clouds gave it an ethereal appearance. Look at the reflection in the water in both pictures. Loved it. Your pictures are great – can’t miss a once in 150 year event.
We are having a lot of super moons, it seems. And darn it, I forgot about this one so didn’t get a look at it. I’m glad you got a shot to share with people like me who just didn’t remember.
Super bright… made the outlines around the windowshade glow.
We had clear skies but were a little “distracted” this morning with other things to look at the glorious moon – thanks for capturing some of it for us!!
Pam
Very pretty.
I think any photo of the Super blue blood moon is a winner and a treasure .
