Reservations Suggested

As I mentioned in Friday’s post, we have had an abundance of gold finches at our feeders recently.

Yesterday, our weather was cold, gloomy, rainy, windy. But those cheerful little birds really brightened the day. During the summer, my bird nerd friend, Donna, has “droves” of hummingbirds at her feeders.  And I admit that I am a bit envious. (We are lucky to see two.)

But, it appears that, for now anyway, the gold finches are enjoying dining at our establishment.

I was very disappointed that I wasn’t able to edit this video to mute the audio and trim the ending.  So please disregard the background noise, or better yet, mute your volume.

And now, I must go replenish the rations and get ready for another busy day at the restaurant.

  1. I absolutely love goldfinches. We have a few but not like some years. We do have a bunch of cardinals. You have THE best restaurant. 🙂

  2. They were definitely the ray of sunshine in yesterday. …..And quite possessive their place at the table. Made me smile:)

  3. We are seeing them here too but still more chickadees than anything else. Love goldfinches though – they’re a “flash of light” with their bright yellow in our woods.

  4. They are such pretty things. Our restaurants have been very busy lately too, but we just realized that the crows have been pigging out on our new bird feeder (it’s wide enough for them to perch on it), so that free lunch is going to stop. They chase away all the other littler birdies.

  5. Busy busy birds !

The finches are very pretty. Glad they came to visit your restaurant.

  7. So pretty! I have lots of birds in the all the birdhouses my husband likes to make for me. Goldfinches are among my favorite, along with bluebirds. What kind of feeder is that? Do you have a previous blog about it so I can make one? It looks ideal for keeping crows out.
