As I do every week, I’m participating in Poetic Thursday, a blog meme hosted by Pam and her kitty boys over at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is the beautiful photo they provided for this week’s poetry inspiration.
And here is my poem:
The Garden
It’s an honor to love this stately old home
and its beautiful gardens in which to roam.
Come to the rose garden and sit with me.
We’ll enjoy the flowers, and I’ll pour us some tea.
We’ll find a spot to savor the breeze
among the butterflies and bees.
Man tends the soil, but that’s just the start,
then God steps in and does His part.
Time passes quickly, and soon the day ends.
Come back soon for another visit, my friend.
~These Days Of Mine~
Thanks for the invitation. I’d love to sit in that garden with you, enjoy some tea, and chat. Great poem!
Loved this Dianne. Would love to visit there.
a very nice poem to go with this home – but I was seeing Bacon’s Castle as I was reading ; )
It would be an ideal spot for a tea or garden party! Beautiful house AND gardens. Thanks for playing poetry with us!!
Pam
I just watched a Hallmark movie the other night. An adorable little girl had a tea party in a beautiful garden much like this. Her guests were a motley crew of stuffies. So cute.
Lovely poem for this beautiful cottage.
Hugs and thank you for visiting
Cecilia
I can see why the photo and your awesome poem remind you of that special place called Bacon’s Castle!
