Poetic Thursday: At The Shore

Thursday means it’s time for poetry with Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.

This was our inspiration for this week’s poem:

I actually wrote two poems for this photo. This was the first:

At The Shore

A day at the shore
Bodies galore
No room for more

But, then I thought that was a cop-out, so I wrote another one:

At The Shore

A day at the shore under a summer sky;
umbrellas, beach towels and people, oh my!

Folks enjoying the sea and sand,
no room to sit or even to stand.

Not for us, that crowded blur;
these are the beach-goers we prefer.

  1. Well done! I knew your poem would be about “your” beach and “your” beach-goers but the short one was a bonus! Thanks for participating every week in our poetic fun. It’s wonderful to read all the creative poems on Thursdays.

  2. I’m with you – I much prefer a quiet beach – horses allowed! I look forward to your poems on Thursdays.

  3. I like them both, but I think the first one is my fave this time – it has a nice ring to it !

  4. Shirley Matthews Dunn

    Both are great. Love your beach goers

  5. Like you, I’d rather be on that second beach. The poems were great.
