Poetic Thursday: Temptation

It’s Thursday, and that means poetry with Pam, Angel Sammy and Teddy over at Two Spoiled Cats.

Last week, they provided this photo for inspiration:

Here’s my poem:

Temptation

As soon as I spotted this dessert case,
I could imagine the frown on my doctor’s face.

Colorful and inviting, it’s certainly all that,
but just think of the calories, sugar and fat.

Yes, this is certainly a tempting display,
but I’ll be a good girl and just walk away.

  1. HAHAHA….good one….it’s all about “willpower” when you walk into an ice cream shop isn’t it! Thanks for playing poetry with us – we always look forward to your contribution to the fun.

  2. That’s how willpower has to be …
And “sorry” in advance, but this poem was

    short and sweet ….

  3. WOW!! Now that’s some temptation! So HARD to pass that up – will just have to let the picture satiate my craving!!! GREAT poem, and you’re right about the Dr.’s consternation!!! Sometimes will power is no fun!

  4. Willpower is absolutely needed facing a sight like this one!
