Born To Blog

Recently, as I was looking through a box of memories, I came across my elementary school report cards.  You can learn a lot about a person by looking at a report card.

This is from second grade.

From this one little yellowed document, you can tell that Math Arithmetic and Science were not my strong suits, but Reading, Spelling and Writing were better. Those last three are much more important subjects for bloggers anyway.

This is my third grade report card.

Seems I was showing some improvement in  Math and Science.

But what really made me realize, when looking back on these report cards, that I was born to blog, were the notes made on the right-hand side by both teachers.

She must stop talking to person sitting next to her.”

and

Dianna often talks in class.”

See? I had important things to share – even back then.

  1. Lol, I think a lot of us have these kind of reports from school.

  2. Yes, you were definitely ‘born to blog’…shame our little school didn’t have a photography class…you would have aced that for sure!

  3. I have my old report cards too….funny to see them and realize the way I was back then certainly was a hint of things to come! Keep blogging my dear – you absolutely have a lovely way of sharing (no matter what those old teachers said about talking in class!!).

  4. That’s funny Dianna! Brings back memories! I think I had that remark on all of my elementary report cards!!

  5. I do enjoy your morning chatter. I would say you have Math/the stats and Science/your love of Nature down pat now.

  6. I always hate and struggled with math.

Born to Blog…I think that calls for a bumper sticker!

  7. Haha! Love this. My whole family, as well as, former teachers, always say I talk too much. My older brothers used to try and pay me to be quiet-I never made much money!

  8. It seems as talking runs in the family, and we must be kin…… I, also got called down and written on my report card, that I must stop talking in class…..and we never stopped………In fact, that’s how I made my living for 38 years……….

  9. Looks like you got straight A’s in “Deportment” both years…least you were consistently a well behaved talker!
Yes, I had to look “deportment” up in the dictionary. 🙂 It’s not one they list on report cards nowadays!

  10. You and I are so much alike. My report card always said. “talks to much” but I go A’s and B’s. Didn’t hurt us did it?

  11. My report cards always said “talks too much” and I always aced spelling, but didn’t do so hot at math, too. I’m guessing this is a trend among all us bloggers. What a cute idea for a post – I may have to dig up my past report cards!

  12. I think you’re onto something! My report cards always went along the same lines. Smart girl, nice girl, but could you PLEASE tell her to zip it?!?

  13. it’s in your blood! 🙂

  14. I think you’re on to something! Seems like you and everybody responding to your blog…talks to much…including me. Imagine that?

  15. Yep, I’d be embarrassed to put mine up ……. !

  16. My report card looked much the same as yours! Math and science were never my favorites, either.
You were indeed born to blog, Dianna! Cute post.

  17. hahaha…..i had very similar comments in grade school. i was also called a wiggle worm, in first grade…..i look back and think GOOD, i was a normal 6 year old!!

  18. We must have had the same problem; my teacher wrote, “Whispers too much!”

  19. This is adorable! So glad you have these & shared with us 🙂

(( I had similar comments on mine … sigh … so I guess that’s just another commonality we share ))

    Cheers! MJ

  20. I think it’s true that what we were as children we are very likely to manifest as adults. Cute post. And, I’m glad the teachers comments didn’t discourage too much from being your communicative, social self!

  21. Haha! Born to blog! 🙂 My problem was always penmanship. Still is. So thankful for a keyboard!

  22. Oh Dianna,
Sisters of the spirit, us two! My mother still has my old report cards, but ‘conduct’ was my problem area because, as the teacher always noted, I talked too much. My son inherited that trait from me as well. Seems like we are finding ways to use this as a gift. Keep on talking!

  23. LOL! I also had “talks too much” on my report cards. It’s kinda funny to me now. Explains why I like the Twitter so much and why I just smile that secret knowing smile when B’s daily reports say she’s talking too much or at inappropriate times. I think, there’s more of us who were “talks too much” than not. =D

  24. ha ha ha i love it 🙂 don’t these report cards bring back so many memories? I was a huge talker when I was little too!
