This photo is taken from the barnyard area, looking toward the rear of the house. That section to the right dates from 1665, the addition on the left is mid-1800’s.
Two of the barns are visible in this picture, taken from near the back entrance of the house.
My mother and her eleven siblings grew up in this house. As a child, I heard them all tell stories of life at Bacon’s Castle. I wish I had documented every word.
