Outer Banks…Again

Motor Man and I slipped away to the Outer Banks for part of the weekend. Saturday was a gorgeous day, so we rode out on the beach in the late afternoon. With such nice weather, it was a busy place.  (Oh, and there were a few humans there, too.)

Motor Man spotted the “King of the Hill”.

We waited patiently until he’d had enough sea oats, and came down off the dune.

This next photo is a little busy, but I thought I’d share a picture of him running down the “street”.  The ocean is on the other side of the dunes on the right.

It was a smooth drive on the beach. That isn’t always the case. Each time we go, the sand provides a different experience.  Much of the time on Saturday, we weren’t even in 4-wheel drive.

What do you think? Highlights…or natural blonde?

We’re normally on the beach around sunrise, but it was a nice change to be there near sunset. This next photo was edited enhanced with Snapseed, a photo software program that my friend Dee, at The View Out Here, posted about last week. Yes, I believe I’m going to have some fun with that program.

Perhaps later in the week, I’ll share more photos from our most recent OBX trip.

  1. These are all wonderful shots…..love the horse’s blonde “do” – very fetching! I think the running hrose is most interesting…LOL. The last shot ALMOST could be snow on the hills vs. beautiful pure white sand. Lovely!!!

  2. What a lovely coast near you.

  3. I agree with Pam…the sand really does look like snow little hills! And love the blonde, natural or otherwise!

  4. I’m loving your blog!

  5. I love the post processing on the last shot, very pretty! I will be checking out Snapseed and Dee’s blog. Love your photos today and that horse running sure has a lovely tail! I’m voting highlights on the other horse 🙂

  6. Now see? You don’t have to be there at the crack of dawn. The crack of sunset turned out to be a good time to find the horses on the beach!

  7. I don’t know if I ever commented on this, but my human and I really love your pictures. We don’t comment often but we always enjoy seeing your gorgeous pictures! So thanks and purrs!

  8. I love the shot you got of the horse trotting down the “street” and I like what you did with the one you put through Snapseed…very cool. Brings to mind snow-fences and snow!

  18. Nice effects on the last photo. And I think she’s a natural blonde. 🙂

  19. Pertaining to the highlights or natural, do you suppose only her hairdresser knows for sure? ha-ha. Beautiful photos as always. That enhanced one was awesome. I’m going to have to check that software out myself. 🙂
