A couple of pictures of fences on either side of a driveway, out in the country.
They were close to the road, so I wasn’t able to get both sides in the same picture. I’m guessing that many years ago, they were white.
I didn’t want to venture down the driveway, but, from the road, I couldn’t see any remnants of a house.
Linking up to Friday’s Fences.

I’m with you – I’m sure this used to be bright white in its day…..I always think it’s interesting that long after the house is gone, bits of the fence and/or columns at the entrance remain proudly hanging on reminding people they once guarded the entrance to a place where people lived.

Oooh! I love this post. So special. Good luck this weekend. Sounds like good weather for a wedding!
It is amazing that fences and gate posts outlasts houses so often. But I agree that so often the fences and gate posts stand long after the houses are gone. But with older homes, so often fire destroys the house and of course, the fences are unaffected!
Poor old wonky fence!
Thinking delightful…the operative word and wish this weekend.
just love a good fence photo – even if it’s of a bad looking fence. 🙂
I do wonder what this path led to … This was a nice fence at one time, so there was (?) probably a nice house to go with it … but I do like this one just the way it is 😉
Sometimes old fences last longer than a home. In pioneer types, they took their log cabins apart and took it with them to the new location when they moved.
I agree with Marshall, I think there was a grand house at the end of the lane. The columns of brick are so stately and strong. These fence and columns pictures make you think about time past. Have a good weekend.
Looks like it was once an impressive entrance.
I wonder if there is a house back there…. Like you, I’m respectful of other people’s property lines, but it sure is fun to imagine what there might be!
Oh, the places you go<3
Not much left of what was once someone’s dream.
Oh, to know the life that went on beyond those once strong fences. I love these shots Dianna.
