Eastbound Sunset

Last weekend, Motor Man and I were in Martinsville, Virginia for a race.  The race was over Sunday evening around six, and we headed for home.

As we drove east along Highway 58, I noticed a beautiful sunset behind us. We were anxious to get home, plus traffic was a little heavy, so I didn’t want to ask Motor Man to pull over for me to get a picture.

Several attempts at taking the photo out of my passenger side window and through the back window of the truck were unsuccessful.

So I did the next best thing.

After all, I was seeing it through the rear-view.

  2. Very creative sunset catching Dianna! I like the “double shot” of sunset with the mirror and the actual sunset in one shot. BEAUTIFUL!

  4. What a great photo! I love this capture.

  5. Great idea and picture, Dianna. I’ve seen some great things in the rear view mirror, but I’ve been driving and unable to try that. I’m glad to see it works!

  6. Great idea! No sunset stands a chance of being overlooked by you. Have you thought of doing a coffee table book – 365 Sunsets and Sunrises? I think it would be hit!

  7. Amazing composition. I love it.

  8. Sundae…..you have an amazing mommy…………….How many people would think of this?????

  9. That is a really cool and interesting shot! I love the sweeping colors in the sky and the window. Beautiful.

  11. I’ve said it before: the sunsets follow y’all … and this proves it 🙂 “Composition”, once again !!

    Lovely!

  13. Great shot! Lovely.

  14. Dianna, this is fabulous. Your creativity is a joy to witness. How many ways can a woman photograph a sunset? You, my dear, will answer that question!
