First Sunset Sunday Of 2012

Wednesday afternoon, as we were driving across the James River Bridge (or JRB to us locals) for our weekly dinner with friends, there was a gorgeous sunset taking place in our rear-view mirror.

So, Motor Man, being the wonderful hubby he is, stopped at the park on the other side of the bridge, so I could take pictures. And we were just in time.

I love sunsets that are this dramatic. The only photo editing I did was to straighten the pictures just a bit.

The sky was full of colors that evening.

We were a few minutes late for dinner. But it was well worth it. (Thankfully we have understanding friends.)

  1. Wow! You have a wonderful hubby, just like I do! He is so patient about my photography – has even caught the bug himself! What wonderful shots you captured – like you, my very favorite times of the day are sunrise and sunset. These are truly beautiful!

  2. WOW….absolutely stunning! I love a “dramatic” sky – be it stormy or cool, calm and collected but this is really just plain beautiful…….that last shot just as the sun slips from view is BEYOND beautiful.
