Barn Charm – A Friend’s Farm

As promised last week, my Barn Charm photos today were taken at my friend, Linda’s, homeplace. She asked if I’d like to come take pictures of the barn, but there were also several other interesting old buildings.

This barn has been on the property as long as Linda can remember. This side was used for horses.

And the other side was for cows.

There’s an old smokehouse in the barnyard.

This is an old kitchen from the original house, which is no longer standing.

And Linda said her dad stored grain in this old building.

Thanks, Linda, for providing me with this week’s Barn Charm.

  2. Oh I bet some mighty good stuff was smoked in that smokehouse…..looks like the horses got the best view from that concrete building – the cows’ windows were too high to see out of!! 😉

  3. When we moved to the country, there was an old kitchen still standing. It was a much more substantial building than your friend’s ‘kitchen’. Love the views of her farm!

  4. I love the long narrow grain barn, as I have never seen one like it. The grounds are so well kept it looks like all the barns were set in a park somewhere–nice!

  5. love all the history there!

  6. what a great place!

  7. Great idea using cinder blocks for a horse and cow barn. I’ll bet it stayed cool in there and blocked the wind in the winter.

  8. Looks like they take good care of the place, love that old kitchen… the stories that place could tell would probably knock our socks off!

    Thank you for joining =)

I love the ideal of the two sided barn. Nice use of space and work. The cows and horses were right there together. Lovely farm!

  10. You found such beautiful place! I love all these old buildings! Especially a barn and the old kitchen! Excellent pictures of this fantastic place!

  11. What a good friend to take those and send to you…I love that little smoke house!

  12. I love this place you found! All old buildings are so great. I like very much the old kitchen and a barn! Excellent pictures of an amazing place!

  13. It looks like plenty of fun to explore!

I wanted to thank you for your birthday wishes for my purrthday, on Texas’ blog. I know I am terribly terribly late, and I apologize and so I send you plenty of purrs and some silky fur of mine!

  14. A nice collection of old structures ! – The smokehouse & kitchen are great, but for some reason the old grain building is my favorite here!

  15. What a fun place! If they could talk, these old buildings look like they would have many stories to tell.

  16. Hey I know I am behind on comments but I know I commented on how charming that little smokehouse is! My comment is gone.. 🙂
