Songography – A Summer Wind

One of my favorite memes is Kathy’s  Songography on Sundays. This week’s song is “A Summer Wind” by Frank Sinatra. My entry today features photos of “my” beautiful wild horses on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. (If you’d like, scroll to the bottom of the post and click on the link to listen to the song while you read the lyrics and see the photos.)

The summer wind, came blowin in – from across the sea;
It lingered there, to stroke your hair and then walk with me.

All summer long, we sang a song – and then we strolled the golden sand-
Two sweethearts and the summer wind.

walkin down the beach

Like painted kites, the days and nights – they went flyin by;
The world was new, beneath a blue-umbrella sky.

Then softer than a piper man – one day it called to you,
I lost you to that summer wind.

The autumn winds, and the winter winds – they have come and gone;
Still the days, those lonely days – they go on and on.
And guess who sighs his lullabies – through nights that never end –
My fickle friend, the summer wind.
