Weekends

Today, I thought I’d share with you how Sunrise Saturday and Sunset Sunday here at “These Days” came to be. Fairly early in my blogging experience, I discovered that viewership on my blog, as a general rule, is less on weekends than during the week.

So, I decided to just share sunrise and sunset photos with short descriptions on Saturdays and Sundays rather than write lengthy, detailed posts.

Sometimes, though, a little doubt starts nagging at me. What if…..? What if my viewership on the weekends is lower because readers are thinking: “Hmm. It’s the weekend; Dianna’s posting pictures of (yawn) more sunrises and sunsets”.

MAYBE, if I posted something other than sunrise and sunset photos on the weekends, more folks would “tune in”.

Then, I shut out the doubt, and post another sunrise/sunset picture like these of last Monday’s sunset.

Hey! I saw that yawn.

  1. I love your sunset/sunrise photos no matter how many of them you post because they are so peaceful. Particularly there on the water. You just keep posting them my friend – and we’ll all keep enjoying them!

  2. Your sunrise/sunset photos are so beautiful, I never get tired of them. And you always find interesting spots to view them!

  3. I am curious … which would be your favorite … Sunrise or Sunset?

  4. No worries. Sunrises and sunsets do not chase the viewers/readers away. Saturday stat bars are predictably short, no matter the post. Perhaps others are doing laundry on the weekends…yawn.

  5. These have such a beautiful color to them. If I could get good shots I might post some; ours are blocked by trees and barns 😦

I’ve also noticed the pageviews are much less on the weekends, so don’t worry.

  6. NO!! Don’t stop your beautiful sunrise/sunset posts-they are stunning, and… I get to enjoy your fabulous view of the water.
And, Georgette is right. I am one of those doing laundry, among other chores, on the weekends…yawn.
Even during the week, my work, gets in the way of reading my favorite blogs AND commenting, as much I would like 😦 Dang work-I hate it when that happens!

  7. No yawn here Dianna. But I came here for the gentleness and peacefulness of your blog voice too. I think that is what drew me. You post with a soft soothing voice. I don’t know how to explain it 🙂 And yes I love to see your pictures for sure and Sundae too. And comments are fun too! Beautiful pictures this December Sunday morning. I have snow too!

  8. no yawns from me! love your sunrises and sets! and yes, weekends are when i post my ‘2nd string’ photos, too! 🙂

  9. I never tire of them…beautiful.

  10. How could you ever get tired of that!

  11. Your photos are lovely, and I like on the weekends to see a few blogs that don’t entail much reading… I like being lazy.

  12. Can’t get enough sunrises and sunsets – especially such serene ones.

  13. No yawn on this end … You know how I feel about sunrises and sunsets.. Keep ’em coming !! I’m not usually up early enough for the rises, and I don’t have a good western view for the sets ….. !

  14. Beautiful! Don’t know if it’s just me, but I swear it looks colder in these photos!

  15. No yawns from this end. I love your sunrise pictures they are beautiful. Keep sharing :)) please.

  16. I love your photos. I’m glad you started posting regardless of the reason. Your post are welcome part of my life with your beautiful photos and wonderful anecdotes and stories.
I love the sequence of photos, they would make a pretty animation. 😉

  17. I never tire of seeing a beautiful sunrise or sunset. I can always count on seeing some gorgeous ones here. Keep snapping and sharing, Dianna!

  18. I love the effect the falling snow makes on your photos. Spectacular!

  19. I wasn’t yawning, either! Always enjoy “visiting” with you, no matter what you post.

  20. Ms. D.
It’s Sunday night. I’m surfing around looking for something good to read, and I followed writingfeemail over here. I let out a big sigh. It so peaceful here I can kick off my shoes and stay a while. Thanks for the beauty.

  21. Never a “yawn” over here!
    🙂

  22. I have had similar thoughts about my weekend viewerhsip…therefore I don’t beat myself up about posting on Saturday or Sunday. Sometimes I do something I don’t.

  23. Lovely, no matter how often.

  24. Whenever I see a particularly beautiful sunset (I’m a night owl so don’t see sunrises), I think of you. The sunsets viewed through trees bare of leaves are “a slight to see.”
