Barn Charm – In The Middle Of Town

This sweet barn is right smack dab in the middle of the little village/town of Rescue, Va.

So I can’t help but wonder if someone built the barn in their back yard, or if the town built up around the barn?

  1. Good question Dianna.
This makes me think of how Interstate 45 veers a bit north of us and then veers back straight north to Dallas. Many people question why it does that. Answer: There’s a cemetery that the civil engineers had to bypass.

  2. Kind of like “which came first – the chicken or the egg” ?! Whether the barn was first or the town was, it’s a nice feature and a rather pretty barn…..

  3. Love it! If they added some windows it would make a super cool HOUSE!

  4. Very pretty little barn! It looks like it’s been there a long time.

  5. There is an old farm complete with a modest home, barn and silo here in Oklahoma that is sandwiched between a Lowes, Super Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Target, Petsmart and loads of other chain stores and restaurants. We’ve watched the town build up around it over the years.

  9. Though I like your sweet barn, I really LOVE your pretty pansies! Not too much blooming in my garden today…

  10. Well, when all their was was horses, town folk did have barns for a horse or two, a buggy. This one is charming. Might have also been a farrier’s place?

  16. Good Morning Dianna! Love a charming white barn and this one has a concrete?brick?stone? foundation which ups the charming quotient!

  17. Wow, it’s so pretty! I bet the town built around it. So happy that it’s still standing.

You’re right Dianna, what a sweet barn in a very sweet village. I some times miss the Isle of Wright treasures.
