Treasure Hunting: Teddy’s Rocker

The antiquing trip with my friends on Saturday resulted in this find:

I just love the old chipped paint in red, green and blue. And I wonder how many little ones loved this chair through the years.

Now, it makes for a good spot for an old bear I found (for $5.00) a couple of weeks ago.

I do believe he’s made himself right at home.

  1. Old chair and old bear make a GREAT combination! I love the look…’s like a “memory chair” really… have to wonder what stories both of them could tell.

  2. You can find the neatest treasures!! I hadn’t seen the bear before. Do you think he’s a Stieff? I really can’t tell unless they have the tag on the ear!! They’re both perfectly at home in YOUR home.

  3. Looks like they’ve been reunited!

  4. I have been looking for the perfect rocking chair…you know how hard it is to find the perfect rocker (size, durability, comfort) and it looks like you found it! Yep, I would take bear, put him in my lap and take him for a ride.

  5. I love old rocking chairs. The remind me of my Grandma. Ol’ Bear looks right at home in your awesome find. 🙂

  6. Sweet teddy in a rocking chair! That makes for a smile!!

  7. That’s one well-loved chair AND bear 🙂

  8. Love it! It will dress up nicely for Xmas too!

  9. They suit each other perfectly! – and, yes, imagine the stories BOTH could tell !

It is in really good shape for as old as it appears to be. I also think it will be fun to decorate for Christmas!
