Saturday night, Motor Man and I went to the race track. Several divisions were scheduled to race.
It was a beautiful evening.
We were probably three-quarters of the way through the racing program, when around 10:00, from out of nowhere, in came the rain. One look at radar on my phone told Motor Man and me that the track- drying efforts were useless. So we headed home.
It didn’t mean an early bedtime for us though. It meant we were able to watch the last 100 or so laps of the race on tv from Darlington. I managed to stay awake til the end, but fell asleep shortly after the checkered flag. Motor Man stayed up to watch the post race events.
I was awakened around 12:15 by his voice. He was on his cell phone, talking to one of our local drivers. About horsepower. And torque. At 12:15 a.m.
Such is the life of a Motor Man’s wife.
