In A Fog

With such high humidity the past few weeks, outdoor photography has been a bit of a challenge.  After stepping outside, it’s been necessary to wait for the camera lens to ‘unfog’ before actually taking a photo.

I must confess that a couple of times, I’ve resorted to wiping the lens with my shirttail, rather than waiting.  I’m sure “real” photographers would probably cringe upon hearing that.

One evening last week, my fogged-up lens resulted in an interesting sunset photo.

Even being in a fog has its moments, I suppose.

  1. I would suppose so! That is gorgeous Dianna.

  2. It’s like looking at the sunset through a large peephole. Still, very pretty.

    Picture postcard perfect!

  14. Reminds me of the times of rain clouds and you have a peep hole into a touch of blue. Makes you remember that the sun is still there above all the clouds. A promise!! Sometimes our focus is too large and we need to readjust ourselves. Very beautiful. You were too through my fogged sunglasses! Followed your bright shirt.

  15. I see, our hostess, Dianne, did not mention our reunion, but all of you should know she portrayed (as always) the very best party/reunion. She and JR. were excellent host and hostess. Even though there was a small crowd, the fellowship and food couldn’t have been better. The weather cooperatived and rained prior, but remained hot. Good work you two and thanks again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,jj

  16. Magnificent. Makes me think of Monet’s water lilies ~ he went progressively blind as he aged, and kept painting the same water lilies. The sides of the paitings went blurry and got darker….yet he could still focus in the middle. He held onto color for a while, then it went dark. Anyhow, that’s what this brought to mind. I just adore that the geese are silhouetted in the center!

  17. omg. one of my all-time favorites!

  18. It came out beautifully … love those accidental surprises!

  19. Oh! I do like that fogged-up shot. It’s so relaxing that I think I’m just going to pause and stare for a bit.

My fogged-over shots are never quite so neat. I wonder how I could replicate this effect (we do get humidity a lot). Hmmm…

  20. Woow, amazing photo!

  21. I like this photo! We’ve had the same problem going from an air-conditioned house to the humid weather to take photos! My foggy shots didn’t quite turn out as well as yours, however!

  22. I love the foggy photo. Sometimes being “in a fog”–emotionally speaking–does have its advantages. And, I have enjoyed seeing fog in the morning. It’s a bit magical, somehow.
