Sundae Says….. Tis The Day After Christmas

Happy Day After Christmas, everyone. Motor Mommy had quite a busy day yesterday, so I told her to sleep in today: I’d handle the blog writing duties.

Evidently Santa Claws thought I was a good kitty (guess I had him fooled, huh?), because he brought me quite a few toys for Christmas. First, this crinkle bag that feels soft, but crinkles like a paper bag.  There’s even a sound like a bird chirping inside.

Santa also brought this little toy lion with a bell on his tail. I had fun playing with that for awhile. From the looks of this picture, it brought out the “wild” cat in me.

Even though I’m declawed, Santa’s elves must have seen me “clawing” at the base of the Christmas tree, because Santa brought me a scratching post. I may decide to use it, but only after the tree is put away.  (Those are Motor Man’s gold-toes in the background.)

Because it’s my first Christmas with the “Motor” family, I was very much in demand for holiday photos.

Is it obvious that being held is not my favorite pastime? I made an exception, since it was Christmas. But it WAS fun getting toys and having Marshall come to visit.

Motor Mommy will be back tomorrow. In the meantime, how was your Christmas? Did Santa bring YOU a scratching post?

  1. I am so glad you had a good Christmas, Sundae! Your toys look like fun, and your Motor Mommy and Daddy and Marshall look very happy to have such a good kitty! (Good acting job – probably Oscar worthy!). Hope the rest of your holiday is wonderful.

  2. Hi Sundae! Nice to see you posting this morning and giving your Mom a chance to rest up…..looks like you got lots of swell stuff from Santa Claws! I’m not crazy about being picked up (although I’m a total lap cat) either. I bet you’ll miss that tree when it’s gone but at least you have a brand new scratching post if you feel the need to stretch your toes!!!

Hugs from Sammy (and his Mom)

  3. Sundae you are a treasure. Santa knows how truly special you are and how much you deserved so many fun gifts. I’m Glad you had a Merry Christmas. I hope you have a Happy New Year! Stay sweet! 🙂

  4. Glad Santa was good to you, Sundae…guess he doesn’t care if you don’t like to be held!! Looks like your mommy, daddy and Marshall had a happy time!

  5. Awww…you have been a good kitty after all. Santa was certainly good to you!

  6. WOW – Sundae … it looks like Santa gave you a great many goodies.
I’m a little older so I got a nice fluffy blanket. It keeps my arthritic bones warm. I had a yummy Christmas dinner … purina turkey soft food and warm soy milk … yum … I have left-overs for today.
    Merry Christmas, Marshmellow.

  7. Sundae, i’m not certain who is more beautiful, you or motor mommy. i’m thinking i might have to say MM. 🙂

  8. Love the picture of you, Motor Man and Sundae. Looks like a good Christmas card picture. Merry Christmas.

  9. Loved seeing all your pictures this morning! You have some really loving peeps to buy you so many cool toys! Lots of love from Eddie the JR, Simone the collie and Mattie the foxhound

  10. Very sweet post, Sundae! Glad to know there was lots of love and spoilage taking place at your house! Great pics!

  11. Sundae throws a good party .. she was up late, too – she was still up when I left: I’m surprised this post even made it today 😉

  12. My family bought me a ball infused with catnip and a bell inside. I’m thinking about playing with it but only when they’re not looking! My dogs got these stupid squeaky toys that are driving me nuts but they seem to love them. All in all it was a pretty good Xmas but now it’s time for a cat nap.

Sundae, your first Christmas with your loving Motor Family was great.
You have to be a very special cat to be loved so much. So glad Santa was good to you. Merry Christmas

  14. Sundae what a fine Merry post today! Nice of you to give Motor Mommy a little rest. What a fine looking family! Santa must have forgiven you that bit of scratching on the tree, I mean pretty dang hard to resist a tree even with no claws. Gotta love the picture of you with your little lion. Oh Sundae, life is good huh?

  15. Sundae, thank your mommy for letting you write the posts; I always love reading them. I love the “wild” side of you!

  16. what a beautiful family you have sundae!!

  17. Aloha Sundae! It was nice of you to take over the blog responsibility, and I love all the photos of you… So glad to see you made the Nice list! That crinkly bag looks really cool. And after you bond with your scratching post a little, you can play tetherball. It’s my favorite sport ever!

  18. Lucky Sundae! Duke, Sosha and Ricky were pretty spoiled here too. So were Lucy and Ethel (the cats who reside at my son’s house).

  19. No, I didn’t get a scratching post. Guess I was a bad kitty.

    • Psst… Don’t tell Sundae, but sometimes Santa brings scratching posts to kitties that scratch things they aren’t supposed to. So maybe Santa didn’t bring you a scratching post because you are a GOOD kitty. 😉
