Marshall’s “Girl Sundae”

You may recall from previous posts that, when I went to the Humane Society last spring in search of a kitty, my only requirement was that we be adopted by a lap kitty.

And you may also recall reading that, during that visit, Sundae convincingly curled up in my lap. But, once we brought her home, it soon became apparent that a lap kitty she was not.

However, in spite of herself, she’s learning that a human’s lap is not the worst place to be. Case in point: last week, Marshall came to our house to back up my computer files. As soon as he sat down at the computer, he had company.

Sundae is of the opinion that anyone sitting at that desk needs her assistance. Perhaps she was a secretary in a former life…?

And she just settled right in and got cozy. (Keeping an eye on the computer screen, of course.)

Marshall couldn’t resist having a little fun at Sundae’s expense.

Obviously, Marshall’s Girl Friday Sundae can take a little teasing.

  1. Sundae is a very hard worker … it’s obvious, she needed to rest
after all of her mental exhaustion. lolol

  2. Great photos of Marshall’s Gal Sundae…..it would appear that she’s finally learned the joys of lap sitting! They both look pretty happy about it anyway……LOL

  3. I have a feeling she considers the computer chair HER chair so anyone sitting there is a pillow for her to lay on. Besides Sundae girl gets more rubs if she’s on a lap!

  4. Awwww! The Good Life is what it is! Makes me smile to hear that she has figured out how great a lap can be 🙂

  5. So sweet! She’s certainly learning to absorb all of the love that surrounds her. 🙂

  6. This is great!! Maybe she’s coming around and will be sitting in laps from now on. I want a lap kitty!

  7. They do like to sit in one’s lap. T-Bob our long-haired cat is right here on mine…but soon will jump down and come right back again, knowing I’m here for a while. I keep a lint roller handy because if I’m dressed for class, I must erase what she leaves on my black/gray/dark blue/brown slacks.

  8. Such a gorgeous girl! Great lap photos 🙂

  9. what a sweet, hard-working pair! 🙂

  10. Marshall always has a way with the ladies. Good pictures

  11. It’s always a shock and surprise when she decides to visit a lap … when she does this, maybe we could say she’s ” making a lap around ” ?? !!

  12. What a great help she is! 😉
I think your oak desk is gorgeous Dianna and that’s a beautiful pansy picture for your “Currently Blooming”.

  13. I like her expression, squinted eyes, ears back while he is making rabbit ears. It’s like she knows, and is pondering payback. It’s nice of Marshall to let her check her fan club email. 🙂

  14. My Stormy is becoming more of a lap sitter as time goes by. It’s only when she decides she wants to be close, though. I wish she were friendlier with my son. At least she doesn’t hiss at him so much when he visits now. Maybe some day.

  15. She is such a pretty kitty…maybe she is making an attempt to be a good lap kitty. Of course, she must feel completely safe with Marshall, because cats aren’t always good sports about being the butt of jokes! (No, Sundae, I was NOT referring ro previous posts with remarks about your size…really!). I used to work with someone who’s cat always decided to lay on the papers I needed to work on…demanding attention, I guess! Nice series of photos!

  16. Aww, How sweet. I love cats, they’re so unpredictable. Sundae and Marshall are adorable together. 🙂

  17. ….slowly turning into a lap kitty? Cute pics! And so nice to have a helpful son. Don’t know what I’d do without my kiddos sometimes!

  18. I don’t blame Sundae – I can’t resist a man with a beard either 😉

  19. Sundae knows a handsome guy when she sees one! Our Callie is a lap-kitty for sure. She is the most lovey-dovey cat we’ve ever had!

  20. Sweet to have her surprise you by “blessing” his lap with her warmth!!
