Barn Charm- Barco

Traveling back and forth to the Outer Banks is certainly giving me plenty of blog material these days.

Motor Man and I have been noticing this barn, near Barco, North Carolina, for quite awhile.

Recently, there was farm equipment for sale in the yard, and now the house and property are for sale.

I thought I’d better get pictures of this old barn while I could. I don’t think it’s long for this world.

Linking up to Barn Charm.

  1. Looks like the leaning tower of Pisa! You’d think one good, stiff breeze would take that thing down but then again who knows? The owners apparently “trust” it enough to store stuff in it!

  2. Oh dear, poor thing. “Barco” means ship in Spanish and I’m afraid this one is sinking. Interesting photo.

  3. Yikes!! Old and rusty, this one!

  4. poor thing, it looks as if it is tied together…

  5. oh, no … wonder what they will do next? taking a nap maybe? ha. ha!!! (:

  7. The owners are very optimistic to store things in this poor barn!

  8. Wow, I wonder how much longer it’ll be able to stand!

  9. Oh my goodness, it looks ready to collapse.

  10. A once nice barn is now a pile of rubble ready for the salvage yard!

  11. I can see they are still storing stuff inside…brave people! I’d be afraid to walk inside this one, especially on a windy day!

  12. Oh dear, I wonder if it will fall down before it is demolished.

  13. good lord, no…

  14. There sure is a lot of equipment in that. I don’t think I’d be going in.

  15. Holy smokes, she’s held aloft by charm alone!

  16. Poor thing…

  17. I was kinda shocked that they’d leave tractors and implements inside…then I noticed a bunch of cables…so I decided to click it “bigger”…Holy cow…they’ve got the building chained w/ come-a-longs attached to the tractors to the supporting posts! LOL. So far so good. Wonder what the “next step” is?

  18. I’d be afraid to go inside to get the tractor! There is a barn, almost as bad, on a place we rent; it’s dangerous too.

  19. I think you’re definitely right about that… they usually collapse after we get their last shot… too bad

    Thank you for joining =)

  20. Wow – it’s barely still standing. I’m surprised they still store things in it.

  21. I don’t know that I’d want to be the one to retrieve anything from it. Reminds me of the game of Jenga!

  22. It is folding in on itself!

  23. It is held together with plowing rope and clothesline rope, but no duck tape…..A man must not have anything to do with its standing statue……

  24. Its sad to see thing go like that.

  25. Wow!! Never would’ve noticed it was ‘tied together’! It does have a certain indefinable “charm” 😉
