Sundae Says….Poor Motor Mommy

Meow, everybody. Sundae, here, writing today’s post. Poor Motor Mommy might not ever go online again.

Here’s the story: she and Motor Man own a small business.  And instead of mailing in the payment for the Virginia Retail Sales Tax each month, now she has to file and pay electronically online. That means she had to go on the Department of Taxation web-site and set up an account. She just knew from the beginning that this wasn’t going to be easy. She first began trying to set everything up yesterday morning, and it did not go well.

Although she remained fairly calm, it was upsetting to see her so exasperated.  So I covered my eyes.

She called it a comedy of errors.  I wonder what that means.

She was on hold for customer service for a l-o-n-g time. I tried to keep her company, but kept dozing off. Being “on hold” is hard work.

She kept typing and typing, trying to come up with a password that pleased the Department of Taxation. It had to be at least eight characters, but no more than twelve. Three of those had to be upper case letters, numerals or special characters, such as $#@&.  (Just what Motor Mommy was thinking.) I was afraid she was going to wear her fingers to little pink nubs.

Finally, after a call to the CPA’s office for more instructions than were offered on the web-site: success!  Motor Mommy was so happy to have that task accomplished.

But we all know she couldn’t have done it without my help.
