Saturday, the weather in our area was just….miserable. Rainy, windy, cold: you get the idea.
My friend, Donna, and I had plans to go to an (inside) estate sale about 30 minutes away. And, in spite of the weather, we decided to keep those plans.
When we arrived at the location for the sale, we saw about a dozen folks huddled together on a narrow front porch, taking shelter from the rain. They were waiting their turns to go in the house. Donna and I were given slips of paper with our numbers and we joined the huddlers. We were expecting a lengthy wait, but we were called inside in less than 15 minutes – much to our surprise.
We found room after room of interesting things for sale. I came away with a small square basket, a tin swan and a sweet little dish in the pattern “Strawberry Fields”.
It didn’t occur to me to take a picture of Donna’s find: a huge, punched tin lamp shade. I can’t wait to see what she does with it.
We talked, we laughed, we had lunch, we both had bad hair days after trekking around in the rain all morning.
And did I mention that we talked? And laughed?
