A very little space. As you’ll see later in this post.
One of my hobbies is making my own greeting cards using rubber stamps. (Thank you, Doris.) I’m fortunate to have a loft in our bedroom to use for my “studio”. This photo is of my stamping table when it’s all neat and tidy. This is a rare occurence – only seen when I’m expecting company or I need a picture for my blog.
But I’ve discovered that when I’m in the throes of a stamping frenzy, I end up with about a 6-inch by 6-inch space in which to actually work. Last month, when I was making Valentine cards, I realized how true this was, and took this picture.
Markers, stamps, punches, ribbon, adhesive, scissors. What a jumbled up mess.
And looking at it, I wonder how in the world anyone can possibly create anything in the midst of all that clutter? But somehow it works for me.
See what I mean? I just need a little space.

And you make the BEST cards!!! 🙂
Creativity only needs a creative mind and can work ANYWHERE!!! Barb’s workspace for her drawing is a lap-desk and you know how small they are!!
Your desk look exactly like mine when I’m in the middle of “playing!” I bet you do beautiful work and hope you showcase some of your cards on your blog some day.
Everything right around you to create and produce your beautiful cards. A messy desk is the sign of a creative genius. You know how it is when we stamp at my studio!
I’m with Doris on this one: a messy workspace is the sign of the artist doing what they do; it’s “lived in” … I also notice in the extreme bottom right of the second photo another sign of the artist: a Bo-Jangle’s cup …. 🙂 My cards are sitting up on my bookcase, always on display!!
I get that way when I draw too! My big table turns into a tiny working space with clusters of paper, books, pencils, erasers, etc. etc. all around me…
I’m with Jill; could you show us some of your work someday? My sewing room gets overrun some days; can’t work when it’s like that for very long. Yours didn’t look too bad!
You use your 6″ of space beautifully ;~)
