Stretching It

Rather than just celebrating on Saturday, which was my actual birthday, it seems that I’m spreading the good times out over a few days.

The celebrating actually began last week. Every Wednesday, Motor Man and I have dinner with two other couples that we met through racing. The six of us always celebrate birthdays. With cake. And gifts.

My sweet cousin, Lona, gave me this adorable shirt for my birthday.  “I (heart) Sundae” is printed on it. Do you know how difficult it is to hold a cat and show off the front of a shirt at the same time? I’d like to thank Sundae for not clawing my back during the making of this photo.

Saturday morning, Marshall, Motor Man and I had a birthday breakfast at Bojangles.

Not only do they have good food, but we love the oldies they have playing on Muzak.  Speaking of music, for my birthday, Marshall burned a cd for me of my favorite songs.  I think “eclectic” would be a good description. The artists range from Grateful Dead to Ray Charles to Vicki Lawrence to Zac Brown. Good stuff.

Saturday night, Motor Man and I were at our local race track, where I got a birthday hug from our friend, Mark.

Motor Man and I rode in the pace truck during a couple of the races. The track photographer happened to walk by and took our picture. Thanks, Bruce, (aka Photo Man) at Picyer Photos!

A couple of lunches are planned this week with family and friends.

Hmmm, I could get used to this…wonder just how long I CAN stretch out this celebrating….?
