Sunrise Saturday

During the winter, there just don’t seem to be as many pretty sunrises as there are during the other seasons of the year.

But when I opened the curtains Wednesday morning, I knew this sunrise was worth running to get the camera.

When you compare the second picture to the first, you can see how quickly the sky was filling with color. This one was taken about 10 minutes after the first photo.

An hour later, although the sky was still beautiful, the sunrise was just a memory.

And an image on my camera chip, waiting for Sunrise Saturday.

There are some advantages to being an early riser.

  1. As an early riser myself I’ll agree with you about the advantages…however, your sunrise and sunset shots are better “advantages” than mine that’s for sure!! Really pretty photos and reflections – fleeting moments but you capture them beautifully.

  2. Beautiful sunrise photos. I love the vivid early colors and the later lovely pastel hues. The Marina seems so peaceful with all the boats in a row snoozing in the early morn. 🙂

  3. As usual, Dianna, beautiful photos! Reflections are a passion of mine, as well as sunrises, sunsets, all things water…I just love photography! You do such a great job of catching those perfect shots! I have just spent some time looking at Weekend Reflections at http://weekendreflection.blogspot.com/, and thought of you. You should check out that meme – its a natural for you!

  4. I think it’s the ephemeral quality of sunrises and sunsets that makes them so magical — and of course, the gorgeous colors. Thanks for taking the time to capture and share that magic with us. 🙂

  5. A sunrise like this is no accident. Your heart is so big that you know you must share these with us. Thank you for another blessing. ♪Count your many blessings, see what God has done.♫

  6. I knew Wed’s sunrise was beautiful just from the small part I could see between the bldgs and trees. I’m so glad you were able to get pictures…beautiful!

  7. You must be favored by the heavens since they keep rewarding you with such beauty. Thanks Dianna, for rising and sharing.

  11. always love your shots!

  12. Oh, Dianna! Beautiful photos, but I will disagree with you just a tad – around here anyway, a sunrise over the snow-capped mountains is one of the most beautiful of vistas, and I look forward to those early mornings when I take the opportunity to enjoy them. It can be pretty cold on some of those mornings, though – especially if it’s windy!

  13. WOW- You really did capture some fantastic sunrise pictures. To live that close to the water is such a dream of mine. I’m not an early riser these days but if I had that spectacular view, I bet I’d change my routine!

  14. Now that would be worth getting up to see! These are really nice.

  20. Love seeing all that pink in the sky. I’m grateful for early risers like you who capture these beautiful pictures for those of us who cling to the bed covers and unwillingly climb out of our nice comfy spots. Yep, I’m an early riser, but not a happy early riser.

  21. Beautiful captures and Yes! the sky changes so quickly but my favourite is your first pic with just a glimpse into what was to come! Delightful.
