Friday’s Fences – Lunch And Antiquing

Recently I met two friends for lunch in downtown Smithfield.  And, later, as girls will do, we did some shopping. Just outside the antique shop, Wharf Hill, we noticed this pretty little white picket fence.

It’s always nice to see blooms even into December. I should have asked my friends if they knew exactly what type of blooms these are…

And who can resist a bird house?

  1. Sounds like a fun day…it’s probably a good thing we don’t have many antique shops in our area-I wouldn’t get anything done! I have always loved a white picket fence, and that birdhouse is awesome 🙂

  2. Nice fence and bird house……I know you girls had a lot of fun that day – it’s ALWAYS nice to hang out with friends and add shopping to the mix and – well – it’s a PERFECT day!

  3. The photos turned out beautifully. Such a nice day with super friends. Thanks!

  4. I am loving that bird house you snapped. It’s hard to believe that is a winter picture, it looks like Spring. Such a cool thing this cold December morning. That little bit of green and pink hugging that bird house. Perfect!

  5. What a lovely scene. This reminds me that we need to move our birdhouse–it never gets visitors–could it be because T-Bob is perched on the windowsill where any bird could see him from the birdhouse? We need to move it higher on a post and away from the windows. I bet this little house gets lots of visitors.

  6. Such a pretty scene. I’ve photographed it myself a number of times (of course with visitors in front of it). If I remember correctly those flowers are some type of rose but I could not be remembering right.

  7. White pickets are the best fences…always so Charming!

  8. Beautiful! Shopping with friends and a picturesque day! Perfect!

  9. It’s almost like a fresh spring day! I love white picket fences too and, in fact, have one. So you have literally hit home with this one although I don’t have any blooms alongside. 🙂

  10. That is always a pretty spot along Main St. I’m pretty sure they are some type of roses. Beautiful store too.

  11. Beautiful photos. Looks like a corner of the past peeking over that pretty fence. 🙂

  12. the little birdhouse is a perfect accompaniment to the fence!

  13. Don’t you just love a white picket fence? Gorgeous!

  14. That birdhouse is a beauty! The fence is nice, too.

  15. I love to see a white picket fence. I always thought I’d have one of those framing my yard one day. Well, our house sits on 2 1/4 acres and putting up a white picket fence on all of that yard would be too expensive, not to mention look a little strange out here in the country. So I’ll just enjoy your photo instead. 🙂

  16. Such a charming white picket fence!

  17. Sounds like the perfect day to me, antique shopping, lunch with friends and a stroll past ‘o-so-cute’ cottages’. That’s divine.

  18. That sounds like a lovely day. Antique shops? I shall have to put that on my agenda for the new year!

Very nice pictures. Main Street has grown beautiful over the years.

  20. Lovely! Blooms in December are rare indeed, but always welcome!

  21. A perfect Fridays Fence post! Love that white picket fence and the flowering bush!
