A quiet shoreline, ancient cedars.
Seashells, even older.
Not a doll, but a garden faerie, brought to the beach by two grown-up little girls.
A faerie bowl – just for her.
She shares with her friend, faerie Megan, and her two pet swans.
Even garden faeries like to look for shells.
And dip their toes in the water.
“We do not stop playing because we grow old;
we grow old because we stop playing.”
~These Days Of Mine~

What a charming and sweet blog today……I’m sure those faeries had as much fun at the shore as you and your friend did…..memories are made with faeries and shells and good friends……….

I love this. It was whimsical and moving at the same time. Your photography and prose are art.
Whimsical and joyful = perfect for a summer’s day! MJ
Amen! Let’s never stop playing!
What a fun post! We may grow old but we don’t have to act old! I think we should figure our age by shoe size instead of years.
I could not wait to see your post-it is magical! Pictures are wonderful as usual but your prose is perfect! If I were your teacher you would have 4 gold stars! Amazing job Dianna!
So cute, whimsical, and creative! I bet if you ground up some of the shells, you would have had pixie dust. 😉 Seems like the faeries weren’t the only ones who enjoyed their visit to the beach.
Very very sweet. Makes me smile.. 🙂 Love the swans!
Magical.
This is indeed magical. Such a sweet post and so original.
Just lovely…..enjoyed today’s post & your creativity.
Delightful! I love it. 🙂
Delightful Dianna! Makes me believe in magic again, Great job!!
So original … this is a very unique place down by the river – you can just feel the age there – & this is a fine post to go with it …..
Aw what a beautiful fairytale. You’re so clever. Thanks for this unexpected smile today. You should make this a children’s book. Sweet! 🙂
Sweet!!
I agree with E.C., you should write a children’s book, Dianna. I love this! What a nice way to close out a rough day. 🙂
The quote is wonderful. I hope that I’m never too old to enjoy playing.
What a cute faerie, love the bird sitting on her foot.
Love this! Thanks for reminding me…I need to start playing again 🙂
My mom has that plaque up in her kitchen. I love that saying! Thanks for sharing your great pictures 🙂

I also love this photo series. As others have said, it’s very whimsical.
This was such a sweet post, I am a grown “child of the sea!” This appealed a lot to my childhood and loved the fairy, too! With my name being Robin, I loved the extra bonus of birds in this. Smiles, Robin
