Hope Of A Shelter Kitty

 a cozy lap
sunbeam for a nap

soft spot for her head,
most likely your bed

a windowsill view
time spent with you

a treat now and then
love with no end

For every comment left here on my blog today, I’ll donate $1 to the Humane Society where we recently adopted our kitty, Sundae.

This is my entry for today’s Mama Kat’s Writing Workshop.
The prompt I chose was to “write a poem about hope”.

  1. Not only is my favorite sister a wonderful photographer (and a naturally loving person!) but a gifted poet. Thought I’d taught her not to hide her talents under a basket!!
Every time I see this photo, it reminds me of the Chessie kitten you embroidered for Marshall’s room!
Love you, Sis, AND my prissy kitty-niece!

  2. I love your poem, your picture, and that you are donating to the shelter!! Great prompt response!

  21. Oh this was wonderful! I think it should be used by all the agencies who try to find homes for cats. And what a generous donation to make.

  24. What a beautiful kitty!! We got our kitty Dakota from the Southern Arizona Animal Shelter 2 years ago. She was 6yrs old at the time, and she was very happy to get out of there and come live with us. 🙂

  25. Awwww, how did I miss this one??? Great idea from a big ❤ 🙂

  26. Okay – you KNOW I don’t read your blog every day. (Remember – BLOGFEST?) So, you should have called my cell and left a message or texted a message. Oh yeah, that wouldn’t work either because I sometimes don’t check my voicemail for 2 months and I forget to check my texts. Anyway, if I had seen this earlier I would have also had BOTH of my friends leave a message since your are donating to Humane Society ;~)

  27. What a cute cat you got! I love your poem too and you are awesome for donating $1 per comment to the shelter. I hope you get a lot! Certainly glad I stopped by from writer’s workshop. Here’s the link to ours if you get a chance to visit: http://zemeks.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-we-make-each-other-crazy-writers.html

This month we are donating 50 cents per comment to Canine Lifeline whose founder rescued our dog!
