Midnight Torque

Saturday night, Motor Man and I went to the race track. Several divisions were scheduled to race.

It was a beautiful evening.

We were probably three-quarters of the way through the racing program, when around 10:00, from out of nowhere, in came the rain.  One look at radar on my phone told Motor Man and me that the track- drying efforts were useless.  So we headed home.

It didn’t mean an early bedtime for us though. It meant we were able to watch the last 100 or so laps of the race on tv from Darlington. I managed to stay awake til the end, but fell asleep shortly after the checkered flag.  Motor Man stayed up to watch the post race events.

I was awakened around 12:15 by his voice.  He was on his cell phone, talking to one of our local drivers.  About horsepower. And torque. At 12:15 a.m.

Such is the life of a Motor Man’s wife.

  1. Your life is anything but boring….Motor Man eats, breathes and SLEEPS speed!! And, obviously, you do, too! LOL!

  2. Oh my can I ever relate to this post!
Soon as someone wins the Stanley Cup, we (I use the term “we” loosely here) will be kinda joining you in your “Need For Speed” by watching or listening to NASCAR every possible minute.

  3. Y’all certainly have the need for speed!! And, once again : great flag!!

  4. Glad you at least got out of the rain! =)

Dianna: Did you have any problems linking to Mama Kat’s or is it just me?

  5. I can’t get her link onto my site. I can get her button but not the link up. I’m sure it’s just me. I’m technically challenged! ha!

  6. We like racing, but don’t watch as much as we used to. Not sure this body would tolerate sitting in the stands any more!

  7. Sorry I missed you guys, kept looking up there and didnt see the truck… I ended up very wet by the time we loaded and got back to the hotel to see the last 3 laps of the race.. hopefully next time. Did you get a picture of Friday’s sunset? I was coming over JRB and the sn was bright red.
