No Snooze Button

There is no snooze button on a cat that wants breakfast.” (Anonymous)

You may recall from yesterday’s post that Motor Man and I had a later evening than normal for us on Saturday. (Meaning we were up past the 10:00 news.)

Usually I’m out of bed every morning  between 6 and 6:15. That means that Sundae has gotten accustomed to having breakfast her treats at that time of day. But Sunday, because I’d been up so late the night before, I attempted to sleep in until 7. That’s when the above quote came into play.

I realized Sundae had jumped on my side of the bed and was mewing soft little kitty mews. Motor Man said later that she was just wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day. I think she was saying: “Breakfast. Treats, I need treats. I need treats NOW”.

Yes, the quote is true. Sundae didn’t come with a snooze button.

  1. Been there, done that! but… I wouldn’t have it any other way. It doesn’t take long for one to conform to the “kitty” of the house’s morning routine. Ya gotta love em!

  2. Once they have us trained, they do NOT allow us to deviate even a little from the schedule!!
BJ aggravates me at night until I put HER blankie on my lap so she can lay on it!!!
    What spoiled kitty-babies we have!!

  3. P.S. Love the picture!!

  4. Sundae would be so much better than those rude alarm clocks, functioning snooze buttons or not!

  5. So glad this pic made it to the blog! Love it! – pretty much gets the message across !

  6. I love this picture! Put a huge smile on my face. She’s a girl that knows what she wants and wants it when she wants it!

  7. thank goodness they’re cute. 🙂 sweet little kitten face!

  8. ALL my animals know better than to wake me up in the morning…so they too have become late sleepers. If I get up earlier than usual (which isn’t often) they lay there and look at me as if to say, “Your kidding right?” and then go back to sleep. Both of my boys are night owls and late sleepers too. We all live in “Susie’s World”…except David. He just ignores us.

  9. Oh how I envy you and Sundae! I miss those times with my Jasper who was killed by dogs. My calico cat, an outside girl, came to the house yesterday and ate inside, so maybe I’ll have some of those moments yet.

  10. Hahahaha….my dogs are the same way. They must be fed at an exact time or they will harass you. Luckily my daughter is old enough now to feed them. I don’t know what I will do when my kids move out and I have to feed the pets myself.

  11. My pooch, Trixie, will sometimes go back to bed when I try to sleep in … BUT … I get long looks for the rest of the day when her feeding schedule is off schedule. This photo shows how determined she can be to get attention http://jpgmag.com/photos/2976564 when she feels she’s being ignored.

  12. That is one of the cutest photos ever! love it.

  13. Cute pictures of Sundae!
T-Bob sends out this mournful meow…treats, TReAts, PLEase…if I don’t get up right away, he’s at the kitchen sink drinking from his fountain. How? He nudges the handle of the new faucet and turns it on! When we leave town, we have to cover the faucet so we don’t come home to the water running. ROAR!

  14. That is the CUTEST picture of Sundae girl 🙂 I love cats but .. alas… hubbs is highly allergic. But he was walking by the computer, heard me laugh, and he enjoyed her cute picture, too!

    Cheers ! MJ

  15. Great quote, had to smile when I read it. And that’s such a cute picture. Give Sundae and extra treat for me. 🙂
