First Entry in Friday’s Fences

For quite awhile, I’ve noticed several of my blogging friends linking up to Friday’s Fences over at Life According to Jan and Jer.

I’ve been contemplating playing along, so today, I decided to stop straddling the fence (sorry), and submit an entry.

This is another of the many barns we saw (and I took pictures of) during our West Virginia train ride weekend in October.  You’re probably wondering just how many pictures I took on that trip.    A LOT.

A fence for Friday’s Fences.  And a barn and fall foliage as a bonus.

  1. Great shot of a fence….and a nice old barn combines the two to make a great fall shot. I’d say you did a super job of your first Friday’s Fences entry!!

  2. … and I love the mist rising up from the pasture as well 🙂 MJ

  3. What a peaceful place! I can almost hear the cows mooing and the hens cackling…

  4. A beautiful rural scene of this barn nestled on the hillside Dianna!

  5. Oh! Hahahaa!! I thought what MJ points out is mist was dust from a dirt road! 🙂
I really like the setting of it all on that hillside. Nice. And you know what? More bonus…No drainage problems for them!
What fun “Link ups” you do. Maybe one day I shall play too!

  6. Cool shot. I really like the barn! This is my first week participating in this meme too. 🙂

  7. Great shot….just a beautiful country scene!

  8. What a treat, an old barn, fence and fall color!

  9. Very nice Dianna! I love the fence board that is down in the right corner! The tilt of the barn adds to the charm of this shot. Yep I know we aren’t doing Barn Charm but it is a barn with charm! Love the misty field 🙂

  10. Composition … once again! Great ‘fall postcard’ shot ! What’s funny is that I didn’t even notice the fence at first 🙂

  11. oh, very nice!!! yay for joining in!!! 🙂

  12. Great shot, Dianna. Don’t you love digital cameras?! One of the greatest inventions.

  13. I watched my husband and two of his friends build a fence once….made me pay attention to fences with a new respect! Pretty scene you’ve captured here!

  14. Fences built today with steel posts aren’t nearly as interesting as the ones with old wooden posts. This fence has a lot of character to it and frames the old barn perfectly. You get such good shots!

  15. A lovely country scene…great looking barn and fence!

  16. Great fence and barn! Love the scenery. Beautiful!

  17. I really enjoy your photo themes that you do. Your barn and fence photo is charming and nostalgic. 🙂
