Friday’s Fence By Marshall

Today, I’m sharing a photograph that Marshall took recently.

First, a little background: a few weeks ago, a sweet orange kitty appeared on Marshall’s doorstep.  She must have felt at home there, because the next day, she brought her two “adolescent” kitties.  And now, as indoor/outdoor cats,  they’re officially part of the family.

This picture was taken from the kitchen window, and Marshall’s caption is:

“Why we don’t have an inside Christmas tree this year.”

According to Marshall, apparently the back of the bench didn’t prove to be a very good springboard, and the orange kitty aborted the jump.

Linking up to Friday’s Fences. (That IS a fence behind the tree!)

  1. The fence is a nice backdrop for a cute scene. The bench and the cats are delightful. And I think the tree is in danger!

  2. Nice photo and ALSO nice that Marshall has allowed Mom and her kids to be part of his family! I like that little tree….looks like a nice festive touch in the yard.

  3. That is adorable. I can picture this being the cat’s personal Christmas tree and that they decorated it:) I love the inquisitive one checking out the tree. This is living proof that a Christmas tree does not have to be inside to attract a cat’s attention! Hopefully Santa will come and leave some presents under the tree for these kitties:)

  4. Awfully sweet… and the snowflake effect is charming on this page.

  5. Very sweet photo, picture and kitties!

  6. Well, Dianna I thought you had a very nice son but I think Marshall is the sweetest kind of guy because men that care about kitties and see that they are taken care of and give them some love, well they are just the bestest guys! Cute photo and I am so happy Marshall gave that marmalade Momma a home along with her kids!

  7. “Why we don’t have an inside Christmas tree this year.” Love it and still chuckling.

  8. I have often heard it said “that a cat chooses you, and you do not choose the cat.” Might be true here.

  9. Marshall has always had cats that decided to adopt him….How many does this mama and family make at the moment? They know a softee when they see one!

  10. Marshall’s “children” are precious. Way to go Marshall. Beautiful photo by the way.

  11. I’d say your son Marshall is very talented….good photographer, nice kitty rescuer, and quite clever with captions! Very cute!

  12. Bench back as a launching pad–almost as good as a fence rail! Glad you now have a blended family even if the newest members making Christmas decorating a challenge!

  13. Lucky kitties to have found a nice home! Cute shot of them n their little tree!

  14. first, a huge AWWW for marshall taking in those sweeties! second, a huge snicker at that photo and his caption! loved it!!!

  15. Love the photo! It captured the thought of the kitten so perfectly…about to attack the tree, ready to jump! Great timing to snap at just the right moment! ~ Sheila

  16. That’s just the cutest photo! It’s so nice of Marshall to give the kitties a home.

  17. I love photos that tell a story! This is great!

  18. Great shot. They say a picture is worth a thousand words right? Well, this one explains why there’s no inside tree at Marshall’s house! Love how the other cat is looking the other way like he wants nothing to do with the mischief. 😉

  19. What a cute picture. The kitties are adorable and I like the tree too!

  20. What pretty kitties! They appear to be in good health so Marshall must be giving them lots of TLC.

  21. The funny thing here is that I just took a random pic when I saw all of them on the bench; It probably wouldn’t have worked if I’d tried to time it.. we’ve got about six of those trees out, and as of now, they’re all standing!
The kittens usually stay pretty close to each other, but they haven’t accepted us just yet… The food, however, well: they’ve accepted it… !

Thanks for the guest spot !!

  22. Sweet post. Thanks, Marshall, for taking care of them.

  23. Lil’ cuties!! Marshall took a great photo too!

  24. Hahahaha That’s one of the coolest Christmas kitty photos that I’ve seen. That would make an awesome card. I love the story of the cats. Marshall is such a good fellow that the cats were naturally attracted to his warm heart. 🙂

  25. So cute. Great caption. Kudos to Marshall.

Nice family Marshall, they know a good man when they see one

  27. Love the addition of the snowflakes to this shot. It is one of those warm fuzzie pictures. You can always use another kitty or two or three….genie

  28. Looks like the tree might fall victim to Kitty-take-down. Uh-oh.
